Welcome!

I've been recently inspired to start posting my essays, term papers, reviews, thoughts, opinions, feelings, etc in a place where I could share them with others (just in case someone else wanted to read them) and retrieve them myself if I so desired.

I've been in school for so long and have written so many things that I find it harder and harder to keep track of stuff (not to mention the fact that I'm a clutterphobe and compulsively throw everything away, only to regret it later).

What happened to all the material for my Cuban/Brazilian music course? Lost in a dump somewhere, probably. I'll never know. I wish I'd thought to chronicle all these things beforehand because there are some things you just can't recall and can never get back!

I'm also making a mental note to start perusing the veritable library of Italian Americana I've collected over years of study, in the hopes of writing a scholarly article... or even just a lowly, non-scholarly blog on a Tuesday night.

I feel as though I've lost touch with the academic side of me that used to write just for fun, and I'd like to try and get it back.
